SPHL announces suspensions

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (March 26, 2019) – The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Tuesday announced the following suspensions:

Evansville’s Nick Wright

Evansville’s Nick Wright has been suspended one game for accumulated game misconducts as a result of his actions in SPHL Game 254, Birmingham at Evansville, played on Saturday, March 23.

Wright was assessed a game misconduct under Rule 75.5, Inciting an Opponent, at 20:00 of the second period.

Wright will miss Evansville’s game against Peoria on Friday, March 29.

Fayetteville’s David Mazurek

Fayetteville’s David Mazurek has been suspended two games as a result of his actions in SPHL Game 250, Huntsville at Fayetteville, played on Friday, March 22.

Mazurek was assessed a game misconduct under Rule 39.5, Verbal Abuse of Officials, at 18:34 of the third period.

Mazurek sat out Fayetteville’s game against Roanoke last Saturday and will miss the Marksmen’s game against Birmingham on Friday, March 29.
