President’s Cup Playoffs

2023 PRESIDENT’S CUP PLAYOFF FORMAT
The top eight (8) finishers in the league standings will make the playoffs:

QUARTERFINALS
Series A – #1 seed will play #8 seed
Series B – #2 seed will play #7 seed
Series C – #3 seed will play #6 seed
Series D – #4 seed will play #5 seed

All series are best-of three.

SEMIFINALS
The four teams that advance from the quarterfinals will play each other based on original playoff seeding, with the highest-seeded team playing the lowest and the remaining teams playing each other. Both series are best-of-three.

PRESIDENT’S CUP FINALS
The two remaining teams will meet in the best-of-three President’s Cup Final.

TIE-BREAKERS
If two teams are tied with the same amount of points earned in the regular season, the following tie-breaking formula will determine the higher seed:

1.  The greater number of games won in the regular season
2.  The greater number of wins in games against each other
3.  The greater number of points in games against each other
4.  The greater differential between goals scored for and against in games against each other
5.  The higher number of goals scored during the regular season
6.  The lower number of goals against during the regular season
7.  Coin toss

If three or more teams are tied with the same amount of points earned in the regular season, the following tie-breaking formula will determine the higher seed:

1.  The greater number of games won in the regular season
2.  The higher winning percentage earned in games against each other
3.  The greater differential between goals scored for and against in games against each other
4.  The higher number of goals scored during the regular season
5.  The lower number of goals against during the regular season
6.  Coin toss

When two teams remain after the third, or other teams, are eliminated during any step above, the tie-breaker reverts to Step 1 of the two-team tie-breaking format.
