Ice Bears Split Series with Havoc in 4-1 Win

Knoxville, TN (March 24, 2019) Cody Porter made 35 saves and the Knoxville Ice Bears used a three-goal second period to down the Huntsville Havoc 4-1 at the Civic Coliseum Sunday afternoon.

Doug Rose, Nick DiNicola, Liam Kerins and Roberts Locans all scored for Knoxville, which won two of three games in three days this weekend.

Knoxville opened up the scoring when Doug Rose fielded the puck at the top of the left circle, skated towards the hash and fired a wrist shot over Max Milosek’s blocker to give the Ice Bears a 1-0 lead at 4:46 of the first.

Nick DiNicola extended Knoxville’s lead when Ricky Kramer found him at the left side of the crease with a saucer pass from the right point. DiNicola lifted the puck into the net at 4:02 of the second for his first goal as an Ice Bears. He was signed to an amateur tryout on Tuesday.

Liam Kerins gave the Ice Bears a 3-0 lead with a blast from the left circle on the power play at 5:56. It was Kerins’ first goal since returning from a lengthy stint in Brampton in the ECHL.
