Evansville’s Steeves Named Warrior/SPHL Player Of The Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (November 15, 2022) – The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that goaltender Zane Steeves of the Evansville Thunderbolts has been named the Warrior Player of the Week for November 7-13.

Steeves helped guide the Thunderbolts to a pair of victories, moving them to second in the SPHL standings and extending their winning streak to four games.

On Friday, Steeves stopped 19 of 20 shots in a 4-1 win over Huntsville. The following night, Steeves recorded his first shutout of the 2022-23 campaign, leading the Thunderbolts to a 5-0 blanking of first place Quad City. Steeves stopped all 33 shots he faced en route to his league-best sixth victory of the season.

Steeves ranks first in victories with six, while posting a 2.00 goals against average which is good for third best amongst netminders. The Red Deer, Alberta native leads the league in minutes played and now carries a 0.932 save percentage.
