HUNTERSVILLE, NC (April 14, 2023) – The Southern Professional Hockey League continues the 2023 SPHL Presidents Cup Playoffs with Knoxville taking on Huntsville tonight. You can follow all the action this season at www.sphltv.com

Knoxville @ Huntsville (7:35 p.m. EST, 6:35 p.m. CST)

Knoxville Ice Bears (32-22-3 | 6th Seed)

• Center Justin MacDonald captured the 2022-2023 Kevin Swider Leading Scorer Award, leading the SPHL with 79 points.
• MacDonald’s 45 assists were tied for the top spot in the league.
• MacDonald’s 13 power play goals were the most in the SPHL.
• MacDonald was a two-time SPHL Player of the Month winner (January/February).
• Rourke Russell was named to the All-SPHL 1st team defense while teammate Justin MacDonald was also named to the All-SPHL 1st team for Forwards. Dean Balsamo was named to the All-SPHL 2nd team for Forwards.
• When outshooting their opponents this season, Knoxville was 10-5-1.
• Knoxville was 2-5-0 against Huntsville in the regular season. They are 0-1-0 in the playoffs.

Huntsville Havoc (34-19-3 | 3rd Seed)

• Sy Nutkevitch finished tied for first in the league with 45 assists.
• Nutkevitch was named to the All-SPHL 2nd team after his 63-point season (18g, 45a)
• Dominick Procopio was also named to the All-SPHL 2nd team defense after finishing second in the league with a +29 rating.
• Huntsville was 5-2-0 against Knoxville in the regular season. They are 1-0-0 in the playoffs.
