SPHL adds Allan Westerholt as Director of Communications

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (October 18, 2022) – The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced that Allan Westerholt has been named the league’s new Director of Communications.

“I am honored to have been given this opportunity and greatly appreciate Doug Price and the Board of Governors’ confidence and support,” said Westerholt. “I look forward to working with our member clubs and league representatives to further the reputation of the SPHL.”

Westerholt joins the SPHL, having worked in three previous roles throughout the sports industry. He arrives after stops in the NBA with the Charlotte Hornets where he served as a member of their Public Relations staff for the 2021-22 season, overseeing media members, credentialing, and daily team game notes. Other previous roles include serving as a Media Relations assistant with the MILB’s Charlotte Knights (AAA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox) from 2019-21, and as an Athletic Communications Assistant for UNC Charlotte from 2018-20.
