Fayetteville’s Ryan Kenny named Warrior/SPHL Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (January 16, 2024) – The SPHL announced today that Ryan Kenny of the Fayetteville Marksmen has been named the Warrior/SPHL Player of the Week for January 8-14.

Kenny went 2-0-0 with a 2.42 goals against average and a 0.946 save percentage as he guided the Marksmen to a weekend sweep of the Macon Mayhem and extended their winning streak to seven games.

On Friday, Kenny stopped 45 of 48 shots as he backstopped the Marksmen to a 4-3 shootout victory over the Mayhem. The following night, Kenny stopped 43 of 45 shots, including 17 in the third period in a 4-2 win over Macon.

This season, the Fort Lauderdale, FL native ranks second in the SPHL in wins (12), goals against average (2.12), save percentage (.939) and minutes played (1019.58) and are unbeaten over his last seven games (7-0-0). During that span, Kenny has posted a 1.82 gaa, .952 sv%, and stopped 269 shots.
