HUNTERSVILLE, NC (February 20, 2024) – The SPHL announced today that Nick Latinovich of the Peoria Rivermen has been named the Warrior/SPHL Player of the Week for February 12-18.
Latinovich went 2-0-0 with a 0.50 goals-against average and a 0.974 save percentage as he helped the Rivermen to a three-game sweep of Fayetteville in a battle of the league’s second and third-place teams.
On Friday, Latinovich made 18 saves and recorded his fifth shutout of the season as he backstopped the Rivermen to a 1-0 victory over the Marksmen. The following night, Latinovich was stellar between the pipes, stopping 20 of 21 shots in a 5-1 win over Fayetteville.
Now in his second professional season, the Maple, Ontario native leads the SPHL with five shutouts and ranks second with 18 wins, while his 2.24 goals against average is third-best and his 0.911 save percentage is tied for fourth. Latinovich sits just two shutouts away from tying the SPHL single-season record, set by former Rivermen goaltender Kyle Rank in 2013-14.
