Peoria’s Nick Latinovich named Warrior/SPHL Player of the Month

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (April 10, 2024) – The SPHL announced today that goaltender Nick Latinovich of the Peoria Rivermen has been named the Warrior/SPHL Player of the Month for March/April.

Latinovich posted an 8-1-0 record, a 1.11 goals-against average, and a 0.939 save percentage as he backstopped Peoria to a second-place finish in the SPHL standings.

Latinovich was a brick wall between the pipes for the Rivermen as the netminder allowed two or fewer goals in eight of his nine games, including back-to-back shutouts against Quad City on March 15 and 17. The Maple, ON native, strung together six consecutive victories from March 1-22, while allowing only five goals over that span.

This season, Latinovich led the SPHL in wins (27), shutouts (7), and goals against average (1.91), while finishing fifth in save percentage (0.916). His seven shutouts were the second most in league history in a single season. He also posted the third and fifth longest scoreless streaks in a season while his 1.91 goals against average is the fourth lowest in SPHL history for a full season.
