Fayetteville’s Ryan Kenny named Warrior/SPHL Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (April 9, 2024) – The SPHL announced today that goaltender Ryan Kenny of the Fayetteville Marksmen has been named the Warrior/SPHL Player of the Week for April 1-7.

Kenny went 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average, a 0.970 save percentage and one shutout as he helped the Marksmen lock up the fourth seed in the President’s Cup Playoffs with a sweep of Pensacola.

On Friday, Kenny made 29 saves as he helped Fayetteville secure a 5-2 victory over the Ice Flyers. The following night, Kenny made 36 saves to record his second shutout of the season as he backstopped the Marksmen to a 4-0 victory over Pensacola. 

In his first full professional season, the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida native leads all rookie netminders in wins (18), goals against average (2.38) and save percentage (0.929) while ranking second in shutouts (2 – tied).
