Pensacola’s Houston Wilson named Warrior/SPHL Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (March 26, 2024) – The SPHL announced today that Houston Wilson of the Pensacola Ice Flyers has been named the Warrior/SPHL Player of the Week for March 18-24.

Wilson tallied three goals, added three assists, and was +6 as Pensacola split a pair of games with Macon over the weekend.

On Friday, the Ice Flyers jumped out to an early 1-0 lead thanks to Wilson’s sixth goal of the year as Pensacola would go on to pick up a 6-1 victory over the Mayhem. The following night, Wilson dominated the scoresheet, picking up a goal and an assist in the first period. He added another goal and assist in the second period, before capping off his five-point night with an assist in the final frame as the Ice Flyers fell short against the Mayhem 8-6.

With his six-point week, the Philadelphia, PA native now has two games of four or more points this season, the last coming on January 13 against Roanoke (2g, 2a). For the season, Wilson has eight goals and 15 assists with the Ice Flyers.
