Knoxville’s Costantini named Warrior/SPHL Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (December 12, 2023) – The SPHL announced today that goaltender Marco Costantini of the Knoxville Ice Bears has been named the Warrior Player of the Week for December 4-10.

Costantini helped guide the Ice Bears to a sweep of Macon, going 2-0-0 with a 0.50 goals against average, a .983 save percentage while extending their winning streak to five games and a 7-3-0 mark over their last 10.

On Friday, Costantini stopped all 23 shots he faced, recording his first professional shutout in a 3-0 defeat of Macon. The following night, Constantini was again a brick wall between the pipes, stopping 36 of 37 shots in a 4-1 win over the Mayhem.

Prior to turning pro, Costantini played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League with Hamilton and Kitchener. In 2021-2022, he backstopped Hamilton to the OHL championship, posting a 31-9-4 record while leading the league in goals against average (2.32), save percentage (0.917) and shutouts (six).
