SPHL announces suspensions

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (March 23, 2019) – The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) on Saturday announced the following suspensions:

Peoria’s Jake Hamilton

Peoria’s Jake Hamilton has been suspended two games as a result of his actions in SPHL Game 252, Peoria at Quad City, played on Friday, March 22.

Hamilton was assessed a match penalty under Rule 21.1 at 18:01 of the second period.

Hamilton will miss Peoria’s games against Quad City (March 23) and Evansville (March 29).

Fayetteville’s Jesse Kallechy

Fayetteville head coach Jesse Kallechy has been suspended one game as a result of his actions in SPHL Game 250, Huntsville at Fayetteville, played on Friday, March 22.

Kallechy was assessed a game misconduct under Rule 39.5, Verbal Abuse of Officials, at 18:34 of the third period.

Kallechy will miss Fayetteville’s game tonight against Roanoke.

Fayetteville’s David Mazurek

Fayetteville’s David Mazurek has been suspended pending review of his actions in SPHL Game 250, Huntsville at Fayetteville, played on Friday, March 22.

Mazurek was assessed a game misconduct under Rule 39.5, Verbal Abuse of Officials, at 18:34 of the third period.

Mazurek will miss Fayetteville’s game tonight against Roanoke and a final decision on the suspension will be announced following the review.
