New Look Thunderbolts Sneak By Storm

An Evansville Thunderbolts roster that featured six new faces on amateur contracts rallied to down the Storm 5-4 in overtime Friday Night at the TaxSlayer Center.

Quad City scored first when Dean Yakura forced a turnover in the neutral zone and fed the puck to Shane Bennett.  The bullet did the rest and ended up all alone on Evansville goalie Braeden Ostepchuk, beating him five-hole on the backhand.

As they did all night the Thunderbolts answered, tying the game at one at 14:39 of the first, 4:39 after the Storm’s opening goal.

Dalton Mills whacked home a rebound floating in the crease for his seventh goal of the season to make it 2-1 at first intermission.  Dan Pszenyczny picked up his first point as a member of the Storm with the secondary assist on Mills’ goal.
