Macon, Georgia – Hosting the Huntsville Havoc for the first time this season, the Mayhem extended their winning streak to three games with a 4-1 triumph over the defending champions.
An enormous factor to Huntsville’s recent success has been their ability to generate strong first periods. Just 5:17 into the contest, they took advantage of an offensive zone faceoff following a Mayhem icing call. Alec Brandrup ripped a shot from the left point through a screen, beating Ian Sylves from long range to get the Havoc on the board first.
The Mayhem did not take long to erase their deficit. Just two minutes after falling behind, Justin Levac pressured Derek Perl near the Huntsville net, forcing a turnover on the forecheck. Jake Trask took over possession and backhanded it past Huntsville goaltender Mike DeLaVergne.
