Shane Bennett, Austin Hervey and Sean Kacerosky scored for Quad City, which has lost five straight.
Nielsen’s game winning goal came off a one-timer in front of the crease when Cesarz found him from the left goal line to make it 4-2 with 4:34 remaining. Kacerosky scored 37 seconds later to bring the Storm within one, but Quad City never got closer.
Nielsen pushed the puck through a crowd in the crease after Ryan Mulder let a rebound get away from him causing a scramble for the puck to ensue. Nielsen eventually managed to force the puck across the goal line to give the Ice Bears a 1-0 lead at 5:54 of the first.
