Fayetteville’s Brian Bowen named Warrior Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (January 29, 2019) – The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) today announced Brian Bowen of the Fayetteville Marksmen is the Warrior Player of the Week for January 21-27.

Bowen scored five goals, including one game-winner, added two assists and was +3 as the Marksmen captured five of six points against Evansville last weekend.

On Friday, the Littleton, MA native assisted on Fayetteville’s first goal of the night in a 2-1 win over the Thunderbolts. The following night, Bowen scored twice and added an assist, all in the third period, as the Marksmen dropped a 4-3 shootout decision to Evansville. Bowen closed out the weekend by recording a natural hat trick and the first three-goal game of his professional career in Fayetteville’s 4-2 win over the Thunder-
bolts on Sunday.

Acquired from Pensacola on November 26, Bowen has 26 points (11g, 15 a) in 20 games with the Marksmen. Bowen currently ranks second among rookies in points (31) and assists (18 – tied) while ranking second among all players with 10 power play assists. Prior to turning pro, Bowen played three seasons at the University of Vermont where he recorded 17 goals and 39 points in in 61 career games.
