Fayetteville’s Bowen named SPHL Player of the Week

HUNTERSVILLE, NC (January 3, 2023) – The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that Brian Bowen of the Fayetteville Marksmen has been named the Warrior/SPHL Player of the Week for December 26-January 1.

Bowen tallied three goals, including a game-winner, added five assists, and was +2 as Fayetteville went 3-0 for the week.

Bowen recorded three points in Tuesday’s 5-3 win over Knoxville as the winger scored the game-winning goal with 4:36 left in the second period. Bowen then picked up a trio of assists on Friday as the Marksmen defeated the Macon Mayhem 6-4. On Saturday, Bowen closed out the week by picking up a goal and assist as the Marksmen edged out the Quad City Storm 3-2 in a shootout.

The Littleton, MA native recorded his fifth, sixth, and seventh muti-point games this season. His 11 goals are tied for a team best, while he leads the Marksmen with 23 points.
