HUNTERSVILLE, NC (February 21, 2023) – The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that Alec Baer of the Peoria Rivermen has been named the Warrior/SPHL Player of the Week for February, 13-19.

Baer scored two goals, picked up four assists, and was +7 in three games as Peoria swept Macon last week.

On Friday, Baer was a part of the Rivermen’s onslaught on offense as he picked up two second period assists before adding the finishing touch to a 7-1 victory with a goal in the third period. On Saturday, Baer assisted on the game winning goal to Zach Wilkie in the third period before picking up his fourth assist of the weekend on an empty netter to wrap up a 3-1 victory over Macon. In Sunday’s matinee, Baer would cap off his six point week, scoring his second goal of the weekend with just 17 seconds left in the second period as the Rivermen would complete the three game sweep of the Mayhem with a 5-2 victory.
