HUNTERSVILLE, NC (December 13, 2022) – The Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) announced today that Austin Albrecht of the Vermilion County Bobcats has been named the Warrior/SPHL Player of the Week for December 5-11.
Albrecht tallied two goals, added two assists and was +2 as Vermilion County defeated league leading Evansville 4-2 in their only game of the week.
In his first game as a Bobcat, Albrecht tallied a point on their opening goal with a power play assist 4:10 into the opening period. He would add his first of two goals early in the second period before notching his third and fourth points of the game in the third period as he once again assisted on a power play goal before scoring Vermilion County’s final goal to cap off a four-point night as the Bobcats defeated Evansville 4-2 on Saturday.
The Flemington, NJ native made a splash in his first game as a Bobcat, notching his highest goal, assist and point output of the season. The four-point night now gives him double digits (14) on the season between Fayetteville and Vermilion County.
