You can take a look at Knoxville Ice Bears defenseman Brad Pawlowski and figure he might have a bit of a wild side.
But there is another side of Pawlowski that you might find surprising.
He is polite, well mannered, and exudes affection.
"If he's known you for 20 years or 20 minutes," Ice Bears coach Mike Craigen said, "he's going to smile and ask you how you're doing. He's got an enormous heart."
Put the hockey sweater on, however, and Pawlowski can be an imposing figure.
He's been a fierce fighter since his junior hockey days in Ontario, Canada.
Nothing has changed. When he was signed by the Ice Bears last Feb. 15 from the Federal Hockey League, Pawlowski quickly established himself as an enforcer with two fights in his first three games.
After those games, a Knoxville fan emailed Craigen and referred to Pawlowski as "the Plow." It's a name that has stuck, and the Plow has become a favorite of Ice Bears fans.
