Ice Bears extend Surge's losing streak

BILOXI-- Two goals by Tommy Lange and 27 saves by Dan Clarke weren't enough to keep the Mississippi Surge from losing 3-2 in overtime to Knoxville on Saturday.
It was the Surge's second overtime loss to the Ice Bears in two nights, losing 4-3 on Friday.
Surge coach Jeff Bes said the team was sluggish. but commended their effort in the third.
"We were tired and sluggish and we were on our heels as opposed to being on our toes," he said. "That's no excuse, but if we played like we did in the third in the first and second we would have dominated."
The Surge couldn't get an offensive push going in the first period until 12:15. Their first offensive drive was a good one though as Lange took the rebound of Kyle VanderMale's shot and put it in the net for the first score of the game.
