Shoulder has been pain for David Segal, Ice Bears
By Dave Link, Knoxville News Sentinel
Mr. Tough Guy plans to be back tonight for the Knoxville Ice Bears.
Team captain David Segal said the shoulder injury that kept him out of the lineup the last four games won't stop him from playing against Columbus in a Southern Professional Hockey League game at Civic Coliseum.
"I should be back," Segal said before Wednesday night's skate. "I'm planning on playing."
The Ice Bears will certainly welcome back Segal, the team's career leader in penalty minutes.
With Segal absent, Knoxville broke a three-game losing streak with Saturday's 3-2 victory at Augusta. The Ice Bears had lost five of their last six games heading into the game at Augusta.
"We've really missed (Segal)," Ice Bears coach Mike Craigen said. "It's like night and day. Anyone who's been at our last two or three home games can see there's something that's a little bit off. I'm not saying it's all David Segal, but I would bet if we inserted him back in the lineup 100 percent healthy whatever the day is, you would see an amazing difference in our energy and our intensity."
