Josh McQuade helped the Fayetteville FireAntz make a quick getaway in another win at Crown Coliseum on Saturday night.
McQuade scored twice in the first period as the Antz took a 6-2 Southern Professional Hockey League win over the Hunstville Havoc.
"We needed a jump," said McQuade, whose initial tally came at 2:30 of the opening period and put Fayetteville ahead to stay. "The other team usually gets a goal against us and our goal tonight was to get the first goal.
"(Derek) Elliott made a great pass across the ice and I was going hard. I just put my stick on the ice."
McQuade scored on a designed ricochet off the goalie's pads.
The first of two goals by Mike Gurtler gave the Antz a 2-0 lead at 7:09 of the first.
McQuade added his 12th goal of the season at 13:12 of the first on assists by Brian Eiser and Kyle Frieday.
Despite the 3-0 lead after 20 minutes, Fayetteville coach Mark DeSantis was not happy about Huntsville holding an 18-10 lead in shots.
