Todd Gordon could have a future in telling the future.
He'd rather keep his day job these days, though.
The Pensacola coach predicted Andrew Harrison's go-ahead goal moments before it happened as the Ice Flyers earned a 3-1 victory against the Mississippi RiverKings on Saturday at the Civic Center.
"I told him to take it wide and go right to the net," Gordon said of Harrison. "I couldn't be happier for him."
Ryan Corry added a power play score with 2:53 left to ice the game.
A season-best crowd of 7,020 saw Pensacola (30-22-4, 64 points) crack the 30-win plateau in its regular season finale.
The Ice Flyers host the Mississippi Surge at 7:05 p.m. Friday at the Hangar in Game 1 of a best-of-three series when the Southern Professional Hockey League playoffs open.
"(Gordon) called it," Harrison admitted. "On the bench just before that, he told me, 'You're due. Take it to the net.' "
The winger's 20th goal of the year broke a 1-1 tie with 5:48 remaining in the contest, and it came in typical Harrison fashion.
