NEWSDate: Mar 11, 2010 Havoc Have Found SparkBy Bill Bryant, The Huntsville Time Brett Liscomb's three-game tryout with the Huntsville Havoc ends tonight against Fayetteville at the Von Braun Center. Given the numbers the left wing has put up in his first two appearances - three goals, two assists and one major shot of adrenaline - it's safe to assume a longer deal is just a formality. "Yes, he'll be here (after tonight)," Havoc coach Randy Murphy said with a laugh. "There's no doubt." Not bad for someone who didn't have a point while being stuck on the bench in Tulsa in the Central Hockey League for the better part of this season. "These are pretty much my first games of the year," the 24-year-old rookie said. "Obviously, there's a little bit of rust. I'm just thankful for the opportunity." Skating on the same line as offensive threats Justin Rohr and 2009 SPHL MVP Travis Kauffeldt, Liscomb made quick work of getting into the mix in his debut last Friday against Mississippi. He assisted on a Kauffeldt goal less than 12 minutes into the game and then scored one roughly 90 seconds later. "I was playing with 'Rohrsie' and 'Kauf', so it was easy," Liscomb said. "Those are two pretty good players. It's not so hard when you get the pucks in the right position." He scored two more goals the next night to help the Havoc erase a 4-0 deficit against Knoxville on their way to a 7-6 comeback victory. |
